The Perfect Rice Krispie Treats all depends on the ratio of the butter and marshmallow - literally! You've come to the right place if you love extra gooey and buttery rice krispie treats!

Of course, the internet is flooded with thousands of different versions of this simple treat! So I'm very much aware that my recipe probably won't get to much attention 😅 But still, for that 0.0001% I'll take chances haha.

I might be bias, but this is, without question, the best rice krispie treats I have every made! And there are a few tticks I'd like to share with you for your own amazing creation!

Crispy Treats are totally a must and a retro dessert, especially after you take that first bite! You're instantly reminded why they're a staple!

What's In The Treats

  • Butter. It'll make your treat so Buttery and Soft!
  • Marshmallows. The most important ingredient! But the not the only!
  • Vanilla Extract. Please don't opt out of this either! You will thank me later!
  • Rice Krispie Cereal. And of course, the cereal. You will need to spare 6 cups!

How To Make The Treats

1. Prepare your ingredients.

2. Prepare a 8" or 9" baking dish with parchment paper and set aside. In a large pot or saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. Once melted, add in your 10 oz bag of marshmallows. Reduce heat to low and continue stirring until completely melted.

3. Remove from heat, and stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract.

4. Add in your 6 cups of cereal. Mix until marshmallows have been incorporated.

5. Pour into your prepared baking dish. Press gently with your fingers or rice paddle until completely spread out. You can also add in your sprinkles if using.

6. Allow to set for about 45 minutes. Cut and Enjoy.

Why Is This Recipe The Best

Because there are thousands of recipes for the same thing out there, I think it's fair I argue my case!

  • Only 4 Ingredients.
  • Thick and Incredibly Chewy.
  • Vanilla Flavor.
  • The Perfect Ratio Of Cereal and Marshmallows.

Tips And Tricks

  • Prepare Your Pan First. Yes. Simple but so important! Line your baking dish with parchment paper so you don't have to scramble for it later and you don't have to worry about the rice krispie treats sticking to your pan.
  • Fresh Marshmallows. Makes the difference! I wouldn't use the older marshmallows that have been in your pantry for months! Try using fresh one. The stale ones will be just that, stale. Even if you melt them.
  • Secret Ingredient. Not everyone uses vanilla extract, and I wonder why! It really does make the difference! And don't get me started on the smell!
  • Extra Marshmallows. If I were you, I would save about 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup of marshmallow and add them in as you're mixing in the cereal. Those extra marshmallow will give them more gooeyness.
  • Don't Press In The Cereal. I repeat. Don't press the rice krispie treats into your pan! If it's packed in, it will be harder when they stiffen. And harder to eat. Use you fingertip or a rice paddle and gently press them into the pan until it spread out. You'll thank me later.
